Rajalakshmi Nandakumar

Assistant Professor · Cornell Tech & Computing and Information Science, Cornell University

Bloomberg Center, New York City

I manage the Wireless and Mobile Systems Lab at Cornell Tech. My research develops computing technologies that enable novel applications across mobile health, user interfaces, and IoT. I focus on building and deploying systems that create real-world impact and improve quality of life.

My work translates wireless sensing and signal-processing breakthroughs into clinically-validated health diagnostics — from detecting sleep apnea and opioid overdoses using commodity smartphones, to enabling precise finger-tracking via active sonar and deploying IoT sensors on living insects.
